First annual Plogging 5k color fun run/walk that takes place on a scenic woodsy course. Plogging is the act of picking up litter while running combining going for a jog with intermittent squatting, so you can all reap the exercise benefits while supporting your community and the environment. It starts at Mckinney park leading into the south end of Comanche trails park and winds through the shady, forested trail. The course is relatively flat that makes it enjoyable to the first-time runners or seasoned athletes. You finish the race with a crowd of volunteers and spectators cheering and motivating you to cross the finish line. After the race reward yourself to some delicious food from the food truck vendors, music, activity booths, and more massive color throws. Come out and enjoy a great race with the entire family!
We love offering a FREE runner’s shirt but to be eligible for the FREE shirt YOU MUST REGISTER BEFORE February 27 @ 8 am If you do not register before this day, we will not have a shirt for you.
Awards and categories: 5k top three male & female winners in each category fun run: top male & female group with the most participation. Best male and female costume and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for male and female
We love running and our goal is to have this run no matter what the weather may bring, however, should there be severe weather and the race must be canceled, it will be updated on the Odessa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.
