RESULTS

There's so much to this annual event! Whether you're a short distance or long-distance runner, walker, team player - there's a race for you!

Annually, this event promotes cardiovascular health by offering community members the opportunity to enjoy a casual walk along a designated path or to participate in a chip-timed 5K and 10K run through the adjacent neighborhood.

The purpose of this event is to increase awareness of cardiovascular disease, engage the community in physical activity, and to provide quality resources that meet our community’s cardiovascular needs.  

The proceeds of the Walk for Hearts and Run benefit the Dr. Joseph Suckarieh fund.  The proceeds from the Bed Races benefit the Ravi Patel Fund.

2018 ANNUAL BED RACE

Saturday, September 22nd

Midland College 3600 N. Garfield Midland, Texas

Registration/Check-in: 9:00 a.m. Race start time: 10:00 a.m. 

 

BED RACE GUIDELINES: 

Teams:
  Each team must have 5 people on a team that will actually race (4 runners, 1 rider, and may have 1 alternate). Must pay the registration fee.
  Helmet for an adult person over the age of 18 who is hiding in the bed is strongly encouraged. Participants must be 18 years or older.
  The rider must be lying flat on the bed, no standing will be permitted. The rider must be on the bed as long as it is in motion and may not help with the motion of the bed.
  Team members cannot interfere with opponents during the race.
  Team members may only push bed, no pulling.

  Runners must wear adequate footwear such as running shoes, no sandals or open toes permitted.

The Race:

Beds must be raced foot first.

Plan to race a series of short races for the best time.

Best teamwork, Best team costumes, Worst team costumes, Fastest team Slowest Team, Best in Show
